Early American vertical cast iron rim lock manufactured and signed by P. & F. Corbin Co., with patent dates on the body of Nov. 3, 1868 and May 18, 1869. Both sides of the lock are signed the same as pictured below. Lock is reversible and shows some decorative detail on the front of the lock as well as the keeper. Accompanied by original white porcelain knobs and original cast iron trim. Lock measures 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" and offers a night latch on the back edge which locks the door knobs allowing privacy without using the keyed deadbolt. Restored, complete with key, and ready to install. Comes with slotted mounting screws. (NOTE: This lock has a reversing lever located at the top of the lock, which allows you to reverse the latch without opening the body of the lock - further information is available if you are unfamiliar with this feature).
