A hanging pot in heavy cast iron for hearth or outdoor cooking, marked on the bottom MARIETTA C CO. PA 2 QTS.   A company that was known for manufacturing cast iron cookware and other items.  This pot measures 4" high overall with a 7 3/4" diameter at the top.  The permanent original bail handle is still attached with minor misshaping.  Pot is very clean and in very good condition with no pitting.

Early wrought iron fireplace poker, circa 1830, with a top knob 1 5/8" in diameter x 1 3/4" high.  Poker measures 24" overall - the bottom is nicely tapered and formed and extends 2 1/2".  In very good condition and original patina.

      Very small size later iron posnet - a three legged hearth cooking pot - from the mid 1800's that stood over embers for fireplace cooking.  This pot is 3 1/2" diameter across the top with a 3 1/2"  handle extension.  The posnet is rather shallow and stands 1 7/8" high on three well-formed slightly flared and tapered feet 3/4" high each.  The small posnets were used for melting small quantities of sugar, butter, and small quantities of sauces.  This pan is very clean - last photo is taken from directly above with a quarter inside to show the small size.   The posnet is well made with no cracks - in very good condition.

 A pair of 19th century wrought iron spring tongs, measuring 17" overall x 1".  Made of one piece with the iron tempered and worked to be it's own spring.  The pads will spring back into the resting position shown above automatically when released from grabbing something.  The resting gap at the pads is 1".  The pads have a 3" extension.  The arch at the top is 2" across.  Hanger hole at top is 1 1/4" dia.  Nicely aged patina.

Early hand made maple scoop with a dove-tailed joint where the handle was attached to the scoop, shown in close-ups below.  Scoop measures 9" overall with the scoop portion itself measuring 6 1/4" x 2 3/4" across.  The nicely formed handle has a 2 3/4" extension.   Not refinished or restored, scoop shows all the marks and discolorations of use and age.
