Victorian cupboard latches in decorative cast iron with white
porcelain knobs (5/8"), circa 1880. Latch is a
surface mount, spring loaded catch. Measuring 1 1/4" high x 1
7/8" deep without the
1 1/4" x 7/8" keeper. Restored and complete, ready to install -
complete with screws. Close-up shown below - the porcelain knob on one
latch has a chip off the base as shown in photo below right but knob is stable
for use.
NOTE: These latches may be used for closets or small
storage areas, but caution should be used if the area is large enough to walk
into, as there is no access to release this latch from the inside.

Antique decorative Victorian pull handle cupboard catches in cast iron, circa 1875. Back plate measures 3 5/8" x 1" and the handle is 2 1/4" and extends 1 1/8". When pulled, the bottom of the handle comes out and lowers the inside catch shown from the side above. The catch keepers, not pictured, mounts on the underside of interior shelf. Typical catch keepers are pictured with latches Ref. 444-897 below. Latch is shown in mounted position below. Restored and complete with screws.

Very rare and hard to find early Victorian cupboard latches in decorative cast iron with decorative bronze knobs, circa 1869. Latches are surface mount and operate as a lift bar operated by hand via the bronze knob - there are no springs. The bar lowers into the notch on the keeper. Latch bodies measure 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and the bronze knobs are 3/4" diameter. Close-up is pictured below. Restored and complete, ready to install - complete with screws. NOTE: These latches may be used for closets or small storage areas, but caution should be used if the area is large enough to walk into, as there is no access to release this latch from the inside.
