Three examples of early Colonial
cupboard spring catches in wrought iron, complete with original catches which
mount underneath an inside self. Ref. 444-217 measures a 7" extension x 1
1/4" wide tapering to 3/4" - catch extends 1". Ref. 444-218 measures a 5
1/2" extension x 3/4" - catch extends 7/8". Ref. 444-219 measures a 6 1/2"
extension x 1 1/4" wide tapering to 3/4" - catch extends 1 1/2".

Victorian cupboard latches in decorative cast iron with decorative cast iron knob (1/2"), circa 1885. Latch is a surface mount, spring loaded catch. Measuring 1 1/2" x 1 5/16" without the 1 1/2" x 1/2" keeper. Restored and complete, ready to install - complete with screws. Close-up shown below. NOTE: These latches may be used for closets or small storage areas, but caution should be used if the area is large enough to walk into, as there is no access to release this latch from the inside.

Antique decorative Victorian pull handle cupboard catches in cast iron, circa 1875. Back plate measures 3 5/8" x 7/8" and the handle is 2 1/4" and extends 1 1/8". When pulled, the bottom of the handle comes out and lowers the inside catch shown from the side above. The catch keepers, pictured with latches below left, mount on the underside of interior shelf. Latch is shown in mounted position above and side view below. Restored and complete with screws.

Early 20th century turn knob cupboard catches in original brass plated steel rosettes with glass pulls. Back plate measures 1 1/2" diameter and the glass knob is 7/8" diameter and extends 7/8". When turned, the catch, pictured from the side below, lowers and releases from the keeper which mounts on the bottom of a shelf. Glass is in good condition with no cracks or chips and are tight on the rosette.
