  Large and striking Victorian cast iron folding hook, circa 1890, in it's original finish.  Hook features 5 large hooks, 6" high, that swivel and drop into cutouts which hold them stationary when spread.  Hook measures 8" high overall with the hooks extending 7 1/2" from the wall when mounted.  The decorative mounting back plate measures 7 3/4" high x 1 7/8".  When the hooks are all released and folded together as shown in photo below right, it measures less than 2" thick.  These hooks were often packed in trunks and suitcases as closets were often hard to come by while traveling.
