A Yale & Towne brass door knob in the Cologne pattern (German Gothic School) made to mount on a nicely beveled wood base as a paperweight. This knob was specifically made to mount in this manner, screwing onto the base, and does not look like it was ever a normal door knob. Perhaps a "give away" from the Yale & Towne Company which hardware manufacturer's did quite often. The knob is 2 1/4" in diameter while the wood base is 3" square. There are no markings it. Knob is in original finish - oxidized black & relieved with buffed high edges.

Reading Hardware Company ashtray "give away" in original
antique bronze plated finish over iron. Reading Hardware was located in Reading,
Pennsylvania - founded in 1852 and was one of the largest manufacturer's
nationally of builder's and general hardware items for the next 100 years.
Ashtray measures 5" x 3 3/8" and is in excellent condition.
