Victorian parlor bell crank in restored cast iron in black finish with a brass rosette and white porcelain knob on the operator. Measures 3 1/8" diameter with a 2" brass rosette. The arm extends 2" while the porcelain knob is 3/4" diameter at the top. A maze of wires were run through the walls in houses which were attached to the back of these types of cranks via the hole on the pivot (center photo below) which moves when the operator arm pivots - which pulls the wire which rings the bell situated elsewhere in the house such as the kitchen or servants quarters.
