Classic early
Victorian ornate cast bronze double keyed entry or "front door" lock,
manufactured by the Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co. (signed) with a patent date on it
of Feb. 23, 1869. Exterior escutcheon plate measures 8 3/4" x 1 3/4" -
trim is complete with interior knob, rosette, thumb turn w/backplate, and key
escutcheon all in cast bronze. The exterior escutcheon has a swinging cover on
the lower keyhole featuring a lion head (close-up below right).
Accompanying original
Mortise lock is not reversible and is left hand only, restored, and
has a decorative bronze face (7 7/8" x 1 1/4") with a 3" backset. The original bronze strike
is a different pattern but of the same period (5 7/8" x 1"). Knobs measure
2 1/4" diameter. Interior key escutcheon is 2 3/4" x 1 1/2". Thumb turn
is 1 1/4" diameter and extends 1". Interior rosette is 2 1/8". Set
is restored and ready for installation. Both top and bottom key are provided.
Top key way operates the latch when the outside door knob is locked with button
on the face of the lock. The bottom key operates the dead bolt. Bronze is
restored to original appearance with a lacquer finish. A complete and original
Victorian front door lock - comes with slotted screws.

7" x 1 7/8" and has a swinging cover on the lower keyhole. Trim is complete with matching interior rosette (2
1/4") and
key escutcheon (2 1/2" x 7/8"). The door knobs measure 2 1/4"
diameter. Mortise lock has a plain bronze face (6 3/4" x 1 1/8"), a
2 5/8" backset, and is reversible
for either hand. Restored and complete with replacement brass strike shown
below and both top and bottom key are provided. Top key way operates the latch
when the outside door knob is locked with button on the face of the lock. The
bottom key operates the dead bolt. Bronze trim is restored to original
appearance with a lacquer finish -
set is complete and ready to install - we provide slotted bronze mount screws.

Exterior escutcheon plate measures 7 1/4" x 1 13/16" and has a swinging cover on the lower keyhole. Trim is complete with matching interior rosette (2") and key escutcheon (1 3/4" x 1"). The exterior door knob measure 2 1/2" diameter while the inside is 2 1/4" - a common practice with larger exterior plates to attain balance visually. Mortise lock has a plain bronze face (6 7/8" x 1"), a 2 3/4" backset, and is reversible for either hand. Restored and complete with replacement brass strike shown below and both top and bottom key are provided.
