Beautiful turn of the century mortise privacy suite lock set with heavy cast brass trim manufactured by Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co. in the Cadiz pattern - lock is patent dated 7-26-04.  This type of  lock was made without keyed access and for thumb turn privacy bolts only.  Used primarily in connecting suites of rooms where privacy may be desired.  Each side has thumb turn to operate the split privacy bolt so each side operates its own privacy.  Escutcheon plates are heavy cast brass measuring 7 3/8" x 2 1/2".  Unusually shaped knobs are 2 1/8" diameter and are in the excellent R & E patented adjustable mount shown below right.  The knob base mounts onto the pronged base which is screwed onto the spindle - when the knob is in place on the spindle for the correct door thickness, the brass shank is slid over the mount to hold all in place with a no-screw seamless mount.  Brass is polished  with a lacquer finish.  Accompanied by restored mortise lock, complete w/strike.  This set is all original and complete.  Lock backset is 2 3/4".  We provide slotted screws for mounting.
