Decorative cast bronze figural mortise lock set manufactured by Niles Chicago Co. with signed patent dates of 1878 and 1886 on the lock.  Escutcheon plates measure 7 3/4" x 2 1/4" and feature a lion head at the top of each plate shown in close-up below.  Accompanied by matching 2 1/4" diameter cast bronze door knobs.  The knobs on this lock do not operate on a spindle but are the unique Niles Chicago patent knob that mounts easily and directly into the Niles Chicago lock - mounting instructions can be provided upon request.  Lock is reversible,  restored, and complete with strike and key as shown below.  Bronze is restored to original polished and lacquered finish.
