  Ornate cast iron trim accompany these mortise lock sets manufactured by Niles Chicago Co. circa 1880.  Escutcheon plates measure 5 1/2" x 1 3/4" and the matching iron door knobs are 2 1/4" diameter with a flat front.  Niles Chicago patented and used an unusual door knob with their locks that do not operate on a spindle but mount easily and directly into the patented Niles Chicago lock - if you are unfamiliar with this type of lock, mounting instructions can be provided.   This type of lock is extremely effective and efficient when mounted.   Locks are reversible and complete with strike and each lock has one key as shown below.  Backset is 2 1/2".   Comes with slotted screws for mounting.
