Cast bronze Victorian double keyed entry or "front
door" lock, manufactured circa 1885, by the Penn Hardware Company in their
Portulaca pattern featuring dolphins shown in close-ups below. Exterior
escutcheon plate measures 9 3/4" x 2 5/8" - trim is
complete with interior rosette and key escutcheon (2 1/4" x 1 1/2").
Accompanying original
Mortise lock is reversible, restored, and complete with matching
decorative bronze face (6 7/8" x 1 1/16") and strike (7 1/2" x 1 1/8")
pictured below. Knobs measure 2 1/4" diameter. Set is restored and ready
for installation. Both top and bottom key are provided. Top key way
operates the latch when the outside door knob is locked with button on the
face of the lock. The bottom key operates the dead bolt. Bronze is restored
with a lacquer finish. A complete and original Victorian front door lock -
comes with slotted screws.
