Decorative cast bronze double keyed entry or "front door" lock, manufactured by Norwalk Lock Co., circa 1880. Exterior escutcheon plate measures 7 1/4" x 2" - trim is complete with matching interior rosette, key escutcheon (1 5/8" x 1"), and thumb turn (close-up bottom row right). The exterior door knob measures 2 1/2" diameter while the interior is 2 1/4" - this was common with more important door sets as the larger knob compliments the full escutcheon plate trim on the exterior. Mortise lock has a matching ornate bronze face (7" x 1 1/8") and is reversible for either hand. Restored and complete with decorative bronze strike shown below which is a different pattern but from the same period. Both top and bottom key are provided. Top key way operates the latch when the outside door knob is locked with button on the face of the lock. The bottom key operates the dead bolt. Backset is 2 3/4". Bronze is restored with a lacquer finish - set is complete and ready to install - we provide slotted bronze mount screws.
