Classic late Victorian store door lock in heavy cast bronze, manufactured circa 1890. Store door locks were made to withstand heavier use than residential hardware and usually had a thumb latch style handle both inside and outside for easier access as well as a keyed deadbolt - lending themselves well to residential use today.  Matching exterior and interior escutcheon plates shown above measure 18 1/4" high x 3 1/2".   The twisted handles or hand grasps measure 9" high, extend 2 3/4", and are about 1 1/4" in diameter.  The unusual press down thumb pieces also reflect the twisted design.  Set is complete with original restored mortise lock with bronze face and replacement strike in brass. This lock set is reversible and offers double keyed cylinders and four keys.  Bronze is restored to original polished finish.  Backset is 2 3/8" - comes with mounting screws.  Close-ups and side views shown below.
