A massive heavy duty rim lock manufactured by Reading Hardware Co., circa 1880.  Lock is operated by a 5 1/2" folding key as shown in photos and this lock comes with two keys.  Lock body measures 4 1/2" high x 7" deep x 1" thick without the keeper which is 1 1/4" additional on the door jamb.  Backset to the keyhole is 2  3/16".  The Reading Hardware logo (R.H.Co.) appears on the left hand side of the lock body only - as shown in photo above.  Lock is reversible, restored, and complete with original brown mineral door knobs, cast iron rosette and key escutcheon.  The early configuration of the lock places the large bolt at the top with the latch located at the bottom of the lock.  In excellent working condition with some minor surface age - comes with slotted mounting screws.
