Large antique American molded edge cast iron rim lock, circa 1850.  Lock body measures 9" x 5 1/2" x 1 1/8" thick without the keeper.  The early molded or beveled edge of the lock and keeper make this type of lock non-reversible and this is a right hand only lock.  Original larger narrow neck door knobs measure 2 1/8" in diameter with a 1 7/8" rosette.  Exterior trim also has rectangular swinging cover key escutcheon in brass measuring 3 1/8" x 1 3/4".  This lock is heavy and well made with excellent works.  The back is almost completely enclosed as shown in photo below.  Lock is restored and in excellent condition.   Knobs are early patented screwless mount on the original spindle which will adjust to most door thicknesses.  Complete with screws.
