A nice size cast iron Victorian horizontal rim lock which mounts on the surface of the door,  signed NEW YORK CITY MAKE 1883 on both sides.  Lock measures  4 7/8" x 3 1/8" high and is reversible handing with brass works.    Keeper is an additional 7/8".   Restored with original black jet door knobs and complete with cast iron rosette, key escutcheon, and key - ready to install.  Early configuration places the bolt at the top of the lock and latch at the bottom with the keyhole directly in line with the knob.  Comes complete with slotted screws.
