Large entry cast iron Victorian vertical rim lock, manufactured and signed by Davenport Mallory & Co., dated 1863 & 1864.  D M & Co. was only in business from 1861 to 1865.  When mounted as left hand lock (shown above) D M & Co., New Haven shows.  When mounted as right hand (shown below) the patent dates of May 5, 1863 and June 7, 1864 show.  Lock measures 6" x  4" and is reversible.   Restored, complete with original white porcelain knobs, cast iron rosette and key escutcheon, lock is keyed and ready to install.
