Large entry size cast iron Victorian horizontal rim lock which mounts on the surface of the door, manufactured and signed MW&Co. (Mallory Wheeler & Company) on the left hand side only.  On the right hand side as pictured below are the patent dates of Oct. 18, 1869 and Mar 25, 1873.  Lock measures  5 7/8" x 3 3/4" high and is reversible handing.    Keeper is an additional 7/8".  Lock has a slide privacy bolt found in the center of the lock body operated by the recessed finger slide Restored with original swirl mineral door knobs and complete with cast iron rosette, key escutcheon, and key - ready to install.  Early configuration places the bolt at the top of the lock, privacy bolt in the center, and latch at the bottom as shown in photo below.  Comes complete with slotted screws.
