Early American made cast iron vertical rim lock with beveled or molded edges, manufactured circa 1850-60 in large size appropriate for entry doors.  These molded edge cast iron locks were not reversible and this is a left hand only.  Lock measures 6" high x 4 1/2" deep without the keeper which is 1 1/2" additional and mounts on the jamb.  Bolt and latch are in brass.  Original mineral swirl door knobs are 2 1/4" in diameter, with cast iron rosette and key escutcheon.  Backset is 3 1/4" to knob center.  Restored to a black finish, complete, and ready to install.  Comes with slotted mounting screws.  Excellent quality American lock from the mid 19th Century.
