Antique open work wrought iron surface mount plate latch, circa 1800, called a keyhole latch due to it's shape resembling a keyhole on it's side. Latch measures an unusually large 6" x 3 1/4" high without the keeper which is additional 3/4" wide on the jamb. Accompanied by early original oval knobs measuring 1 1/2" x 1 1/4". Exterior knob and rosette are pictured above the latch. This type of lock is not reversible and is right hand only and is currently set up for a 1 1/8" door but can be modified to fit your specific door thickness upon request. Latch is in excellent condition, restored, and complete with replacement surface mount keeper shown to the right of the lock. Restored and complete with slotted screws. Exterior knob and rosette are pictured above the latch. Rosette is our own replacement item. This type of lock is not reversible and is right hand only and is currently set up for a 1 1/2" door but can be modified to fit your specific door thickness - please provide that measurement in the Comments Section when ordering. Latch is in excellent working condition, restored, and complete with our own hand wrought replacement surface mount keeper shown in close-up below. The original center nut door knobs show wear around the nut from age but is still sound and works well. Comes with slotted screws.
