Cast iron Victorian horizontal rim lock which mounts on the surface of the door, manufactured by the Chantrell Tool Co., circa 1890.  Locks measure 3 1/4" high x 4 1/4" deep and is reversible handing.  Keeper is 3/4" additional.  The Chantrell Tool Co. seal is present on the lock when mounted in left hand position only as shown in photo below.  Lock has a night latch on the top of the lock which allows you to lock the door knobs for privacy without using the keyed bolt.  Restored with original white porcelain door knobs showing age discoloration and mottling.  Accompanied by original cast iron rosette, iron key escutcheon, and one key.  Backset is  1 1/2" to keyhole and 3 1/4" to knob center.  Complete and restored - comes with slotted screws.
