One of the earliest American beveled molded edge non-reversible cast iron rim locks - all original, signed on the back Adams with a Patented 1842 and marked RIGHT for the hand of the lock - back shown in photo below right.  Lock measures 4 7/8" x 3 5/8" without the keeper which is 1" additional.   Restored and complete with original cast iron trim, early original brown swirl mineral door knobs, and one key.  These early swirl mineral knobs are a specialized knob for this particular lock - the lock side knob is permanently attached to the lock.  The off-side knob is also permanently attached to the spindle which is mounted through the rosette, the door and into the lock and is held in place by the special rosette and knob shank which secures the entire mechanism when everything is in place.  A unique mount to Adams locks.  Backset is 2 5/8".  Restored, complete, and ready to install - comes with slotted mounting screws.
