Reverse mount rim locks for closets, manufactured and marked B.L.W. by the Branford Lock Works, circa 1865. These locks were made to be mounted on the inside of outward opening closets with a reversed latch and side mount jamb keepers as pictured. The exterior of the door had the single operating knob and a key escutcheon showing. Locks measure 3 1/2" high x 2 1/4" wide. The flat keeper is 2 5/8" x 1 1/4" with a beveled edge for the latch to ride on when closing the door. Brown mineral knob is attached to the spindle with a side mount screw and the rosette is pinned into place behind it with a pin inserted through the spindle. Restored and complete with key which operates the keyed dead bolt for closet security. Complete with mounting screws.

Reverse mount rim lock for closet, manufactured by Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co with their early shield logo showing above on one side and the patent date of July 15, 1862 on the other. This type of lock was made to be mounted on the inside of outward opening closets with a reversed latch and side mount jamb keepers as pictured. The exterior of the door had the single operating knob and a key escutcheon showing. Locks measure 3 1/2" high x 2 1/4" wide with a 1 5/8" back set. The flat keeper is 2 5/8" x 1 1/4" with a beveled edge for the latch to ride on when closing the door. Original white porcelain knob is attached to the spindle with a side mount screw and the rosette is pinned into place behind it with a pin inserted through the spindle. Shows age discoloration and spots. Restored and complete with key which operates the keyed dead bolt for closet security. Complete with mounting screws.
