Horizontal rim lock manufactured and signed by the Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co., circa 1880.  Locks have a night latch located at the top of the lock body which allows you to lock the knobs for privacy rather than using the keyed dead bolt.  Lock measures 3 3/8" high x 4 3/8" deep and are reversible - shown as left hand above and right hand below.  The keeper is an additional 7/8" wide.  The manufacturer's signature (R & E Co. USA) shows in the center of the design below on the right hand side only as pictured below.  While the decorative center is found on both sides the left hand side does not have the R & E Co. USA imprinted.  Restored and complete with original black jet door knobs, cast iron rosette, key escutcheon, and one key.   Back sets are 3 3/4" to knob center.  These locks are all original and come complete with slotted screws.
