Description

Antique 1870's and later cast iron vertical rim lock manufactured and signed with the Russell & Erwin Mfg. Co. diamond logo on both sides. This lock with distinctive decorative corners was patented in 1869 and manufactured after that. Lock body measures 4 1/4" high x 3" deep without the 1" keeper additional. Lock is reversible and all original Restored to black finish and complete with cast iron ornate key escutcheon 2 1/4" high, a plain cast iron rosette, original porcelain door knobs, and one key. Night latch at top of the lock allows you to lock the door knobs for privacy without using the keyed bolt. Back set is 2 1/4" to knob center - spacing is 2 1/2". Restored, complete, and ready to install - comes with slotted screws.
