18th century Suffolk style thumb latch in wrought iron in a shape attributed to Moravians by Sonn.  Thumb press is flat notched with curved lift which will accommodate a door up to 3/4" thick without modification.  Handle measures 9 3/4" high x 2 1/4" across widest part of top cusp and 2" across the lower.  Hand grasp has a 4 1/2" grip opening and is 3/4" wide with decorative lines in the center.  A well executed early thumb latch showing even surface age pitting impossible to duplicate with hundreds of years of weather and use and very attractive.  The original bar set has a 7 3/4" x 3/4" bar with a 1 3/4" high drive-in staple and a drive-in jamb keeper 2 3/8" overall.  Complete with mounting screws.
