Early American made cast iron vertical rim lock with slightly molded edges, manufactured circa 1850.  These molded edge cast iron locks were not reversible and this is a right hand only.  Lock measures 4 3/4" high x 3 5/8" deep without the keeper which is 1" additional and mounts on the jamb.  Original mineral door knobs are 2" in diameter and have the exterior knob permanently mounted on an extended shank which allows the rosette to be moved to accommodate any door thickness.  This type of door knob were only used for a short period of time.  Also includes the cast iron rosette and key escutcheon.  Back  set is 3 1/2" to knob center - spacing is 3".  This lock also offers a slide privacy bolt operated by the small brass finger slide located between the latch bolt and the keyed bolt.  Restored to a black finish, complete, and ready to install.  Comes with slotted mounting screws.  Excellent quality American lock from the mid 19th Century.
