Description

A wrought iron Carpenter rim lock, circa 1830 - brass seal reads "No. 60 Improved Lock". The Carpenter patented mechanism lifts up and down instead of moving in and out, hence the cutout keeper. This lock body only measures 6" deep x 4 3/8" high x 3/4" without the keeper which mounts on the door jamb and measures 1 1/2" x 4 3/8" and trimmed in brass. Lock is left hand only and not reversible. Restored and complete with original narrow neck brass knobs measuring 1 5/8" diameter with our own brass replacement rosette and oval key escutcheon 2" x 1 1/2" made in our shop. Complete with one 3 1/2" original key. Back set of 4 1/4" to knob center and 2 3/4" to key way center. Knobs currently space for 2 1/4" door but can be modified to fit buyer's door thickness upon request with door information in an email or phone call. Comes complete with slotted mounting screws.
