A wrought iron Carpenter style rim lock, circa 1850.  The Carpenter mechanism lifts up and down instead of moving in and out, hence the cutout keeper.  This lock body only measures 5" deep x 4 12" high x 3/4" thick without the keeper which mounts on the door jamb and measures 1 3/8" and is trimmed in brass.   Lock is left hand only and not reversible.  Lock is restored and complete with original narrow neck brass knobs measuring 1 5/8" diameter.  Brass key escutcheon with swing cover measures 2  3/8" x 3/4".   Brass rosette is 1 1/2" and our own replacement.   Complete with one original key.  Knobs are adjusted presently for a 1 1/4" door but can be modified to another thickness prior to shipping upon request by phone or email from the buyer.  back set is 3 1/4" to knob center - 2 1/8" to key hole center.  Comes complete with slotted mounting screws.
