Description

Antique cast iron vertical rim lock, circa 1880's. Lock measures 4 1/2" high x 3 1/4" deep without the keeper and lock is reversible. Keeper measures 78" additional and mounts on the jamb. Restored to black finish and is in excellent condition. Night latch is operational at the top of the lock to lock the knobs for privacy without using the keyed dead bolt. In the early configuration of knob latch in the center of the lock - lower than later versions where the latch bolt is higher up in the lock case. Bolts are iron with brass plate finish on ends. Complete with original brown speckled mineral knobs, cast iron rosette, key escutcheon with one key. Back set to knob center 2 1/2" - spacing from knob center to keyhole is 2 5/8". Good quality early rim lock - working well.
