Cast iron vertical rim lock, circa 1880, which mounts on the surface of the door.  Lock measures 3 7/8" high x 3 1/4" without the jamb keeper which is an additional 7/8".  Lock is reversible, shown as right hand above and left hand last picture below and complete with original brown mineral door knobs.  The night latch on the back edge of the lock allows the knobs to be locked for privacy without using the keyed deadbolt.  Lock is accompanied with original cast iron rosette, key escutcheon, and one key.  Restored to a black finish and comes complete with slotted screws.
