A rare circa 1820 American Norfolk thumb latch with early cast iron handle and wrought iron bar set. This unusual Norfolk features a decorative edge full backplate as well as a bulbous decorated handle. Back plate is 8 3/4" x 2 1/2" at widest - the handle is 5 1/4". Thumb press is curved and pinned to a straight lift which will accommodate a door up to 1 3/4" thick without modification that can be requested in the Comments Section when ordering along with door thickness. The accompanying wrought bar set features a 8" x 1" bar with a nice heary on the pivot end and an early faceted lift knob shown in close-up below that is 3/4" x 3/4" x 7/8" extension. Drive-in staple is 2 3/4" high with 3" extensions and a drive-in jamb keeper is 2 3/4" overall. Restored and complete - comes with mounting screws.
