Early American circa 1840 mortise lock set with all original trim.  Lock is not reversible and is right hand only and has a latch only - no bolt.  The key locks the latch in place.  The brass knobs are 2" in diameter, the iron and brass rosettes are 2 3/4" on each side of the triangles, brass oval key escutcheons with distinctive key way are 2 1/8" x 1 1/2".  The lock body is 4 1/4" deep x 4 1/2" high with a 6 3/4" x 1" face.  A fine quality well made early lock restored.
