Description

Wrought iron early 1800 decorative edge Norfolk full plate thumb latch nicely shaped and decorated handle. Handle back plate measures 8" high x 1 1/2" at widest and the handle is 4 3/4" - extending 1 1/2" from the plate. Side view shows the flat thumb press - the edge notching is pictured in close-up. The lift is pinned and straight. Latch will accommodate a door up to 1 1/2" thick without modification. The accompanying original bar set, pictured below, offers a 6 1/2" bar, a surface mount staple (2 1/4" x 3/4") and surface mount keeper (2 1/4" x 3/4"). Knob on bar is 3/4" diameter. Comes complete with slotted mounting screws. Handle is in nice condition, bar shows some surface weather pitting, Staple and keeper are hand made in our shop from original patterns.
