Circa 1830 wrought iron surface mount plate latch, Combination of keyhole shape and square plate latch signed W. Rawlett on the end of the latch.   William Rawlett was a well known lock maker and patent holder for many lock advancements in England during the early and mid-1800's.  Latch measures 3 3/4"high x 6 5/8" and is accompanied by original small brass narrow neck oval knobs 2"| x 1 1/4" - brass rosette is our own replacement.  This type of latch is not reversible and is right hand only and the knobs are adjustable on a unique spindle.  Latch is in excellent condition, restored to black finish.  Complete with surface mount keeper 3 1/8" x 1/2" replacement made in our shop.  Back set to knob center is 2".  Comes complete with slotted screws.
