An early square cornered Pennsylvania German or Dutch Elbow Latch for exterior or interior use with a keyed dead bolt, circa 1850. Featuring an exterior brass knob on top of the lever with the interior the more typical deep spoon style on lock side. A rare variation on the Dutch Elbow lock but found from time to time in Pennsylvania. Accompanied by original separate round rosette and oval key escutcheon. Lock body measures 6 1/4" x 4 7/8" x 1". This type of lock is not reversible and is right hand only and will fit a door up to 1 5/8" thick maximum without modification which can be requested. Original keeper measures 5 3/8" x 1 3/8". Lock is in good condition - restored to black finish and complete with slotted mounting screws.
