Roggins thumb latch in cast iron manufactured circa
1880. Handle measures 5 5/8" x 1 3/8" across at widest
and handle has a 3 1/2" grip opening. Latch will extend through a door up to
1 5/8" thick and is restored, reversible, and complete. Parts include the handle with thumb press, the interior bar set with back plate, bar, staple, and the jamb keeper. Bar set
measures approximately 3 7/8" across x 2 1/4" high overall.
When mounted, the end of the thumb press protrudes through the door and the slot
in the back plate to rest under the bar and lift it to operate the latch. Restored and complete with slotted screws. A very popular thumb latch used during the last half of the 1800's.
