Signed Carpenter Rim Lock. 7" Deep, RH 245-387

A wrought iron Carpenter entry rim lock, circa 1820 - brass seal reads "No. 60 Improved Lock".  The Carpenter patented mechanism lifts up and down instead of moving in and out, hence the cutout keeper.  This lock body only measures 7" deep x 4 7/8" high x 1" thick without the keeper which mounts on the door jamb and measures 1 1/2" trimmed in brass and signed Carpenter Patentees.   Lock is right hand only and non-reversible.  Lock is restored and complete with original narrow neck brass knobs measuring 1 3/4" diameter.  Included are brass oval key escutcheon measures 2" x 1  9/16".and brass roSette 1 1/2".   Complete with one 4 3/4" original key.  Knobs currently space for 7/8" door but can be modified fit buyer's door thickness upon special request by phone or email.  Comes complete with slotted mounting screws.
