Antique open work wrought iron
surface mount keyhole plate latch, circa 1820. Called a keyhole latch due to it's shape
resembling a keyhole on it's side. This is an exceptionally large size measuring 8" deep x 4" high at widest end. Accompanied by the early original brass narrow
neck knobs measuring 1 5/8" in diameter and original rosette in
untouched brass patina and iron drive-in jamb keeper. This type of lock is not reversible and is right hand only. Knobs are fitted to about a 1 1/2" door presently but can be modified
for any door thickness upon request added on Comments when ordering. Latch is in excellent working condition,
showing light surface pitting but no damage. We provide slotted mount screws.
