A late 18th or early 19th century Suffolk style wrought iron thumb latch with the thumb press below the upper cusp rather than in it.  Handle measures 11" high x 1 5/8" across the top cusp and is 1 1/4"" across the nicely beveled front of the handle. The handle has a 6" grip opening.   Thumb press is flat and peened in place with a nicely curved arched finger lift on the off-side (shown below).   Latch will accommodate a door up to 1 1/2" thick without modification.  The accompanying bar set features a  10 1/4" bar, a 2 3/4" drive-in staple, and a 5" x 3 3/4" high drive-in rat-tail keeper.  Restored to black finish and in nice condition with all original parts.  The keeper shows some surface rust related pitting.
